The Armidale real estate market has seen significant changes in the past two decades. In recent times many new houses have been built and this has had an impact on the rental market. Luckily for our young people, Armidale is still an affordable place to buy real estate. People with a larger budget can also purchase a magnificent residence for the price of a unit in many areas in Sydney. The number of sales in Armidale has been increasing which is good news for home owners and investors.
Overall, the real estate industry is changing with internet sites such as Rate My Agent, OpenAgent and other parasitic business models. There is also of course a significant shift away from print to ever more digital exposure.
Peter noted that in capital cities many newly qualified real estate agents leave the profession before they even really start. It is actually very difficult to be a successful and profitable real estate agent when markets tighten as is the case at the moment. This high attrition rate, together with the fact that new agents only receive a few days formal training, are the main reasons why Peter is passionate about reforming participation in the real estate industry. One of the ways Peter has worked towards this goal is by taking up the position of the Director of the Real Estate Industry in New South Wales. Whilst in this role Peter was able to provide the Board with a real understanding of the characteristics and challenges of the regional real estate industry.
Peter and Janet’s professionalism and hard work is well recognised throughout the Richardson & Wrench franchise group. Recently the real estate agency were named as finalists in the property marketing specialisation category. This is very impressive given that they were competing against city agencies who create very expensive and high end marketing campaigns.
