The Armidale Golf Club is an Armidale institution! It is picturesque and beautifully maintained and really only a stone’s throw from the centre of Armidale!
Obviously the main pursuit at the Armidale Golf Club is playing golf, but the venue doesn’t only host golf based events. It also hosts events such as Mahjong on Wednesday mornings and Poker on Thursday nights. The club also hosts conferences, 21sts, functions and even weddings!
The Board of the Armidale Golf Club employ several staff to run the club. These staff members include Tim Allerton who is the General Manager, Hayley Schumacher who provides administrative support and Brett Woodward who looks after the manicured grounds at the club. Several University of New England students also work as casual bar staff at the club, which is a terrific experience for them! In addition to this, the Armidale Golf Club has golf pro, Andrew Walkley who nurtures the talents of our local golfers! Of course, there is also a fully stocked bar available and a delicious restaurant called Shenanigans at the 19th which serves a whole host of delicious meals and snacks!
You don’t need to be a member of the club to be able to play golf. Instead, everyone is welcome to either play a round of golf or have a meal and drink from the bar whilst being immersed in the calm and tranquil surrounding of the Armidale Golf Club!
Perhaps most excitingly, the Armidale Golf Club is an ideal place to have an outside or an inside/outside wedding. In fact, the staff at the club can host both your ceremony and reception at the club as they have some beautiful and picturesque locations for a wedding ceremony. Photos can be taken on the stunning golf course which features views over Armidale. More interesting and distinctive pictures can also be taken of the happy couple, such as them travelling in a golf buggy. In addition, catering can be organised by local chef Matthew Noakes to suit the couple’s individual budget and preferences.
