Introducing Armidale Bicycle Centre

Armidale Bicycle Centre is a locally owned and operated bike shop that is situated in Armidale. The Bullen family have owned the shop since 1974 when Jock Bullen bought the shop from Jack Forbes.

Jock ran the business for several decades until Mark took over the main running of the shop. Jock continues to work in the shop with Mark. Anthony Bamford, who is a passionate rider and founding member of the Armidale Mountain Bike Club, and also works full time in the bicycle centre.

Armidale Bicycle Centre stocks everything related to biking at the shop including a wide range of bikes, clothing, electric bikes, helmets, goggles, sunglasses, shoes, pedals and even padded seats for those of us who would like to protect our derriere!

When asked what the best bike in the shop is, Mark noted that instead of there being a best bike, there is a bike for everyone depending on their individual circumstances, age and budget. Mark only picks out the best biking products on the market and if a product is not sold at the shop there is always a reason why!
Armidale Bicycle Centre’s business practices really showcase the importance and value of local businesses in our community. Recently Mark welcomed Doug, an out of town customer, into his shop just as the store was closing. Doug was planning to ride his bike from Sydney to Cairns. Before he could undertake such a long trip though, his bike needed some repairs. Whilst Mark was inspecting the bike Doug asked where a good place to stay in Armidale was. Mark suggested the Royal Hotel was a good option and then Mark gave Doug a lift (with all of his gear) to the accommodation. Doug also asked for advice as to what was the best route for biking between Sydney and Cairns. Because Mark has personal experience bike riding around the country, he was able to explain the pitfalls and advantages of each of the possible routes that could be taken.

This sort of service and attention simply would not happen in one of the larger multinational stores. As a result of this exceptional service and kindness, Doug left Armidale with terrific memories of local businesses in the area!

Clearly the success of Armidale Bicycle Centre is due to the professionalism, honesty, eye for quality and passion of the owners! The Bullen family take pride in treating everyone in the same way! Even though they have welcomed people such as Tony Abbott, Ian Sinclair and Cadel Evans into their shop they still treat everyone with the same level of kindness and respect!
